Schmigadoon is such a fun show! The sex-ed Sound of Music song was <chef’s kiss>. Kristin Chenowyth’s makeup team deserves awards, she looks so amazing. And the rhubarb square scene with the Mayor and the Preacher was a surprising and touching moment.

I’m still unclear on whether the townsfolk know they’re in a musical: After the schoolhouse song and dance, the teacher and students all seemed to acknowledge they’d just finished a big dance number. But otherwise, every song and dance acknowledgement is by way of knowing commentary by Josh and Melissa.

Caught up with the last two episodes last night, so 4 of 6 episodes done. I was surprised to learn that Schmigadoon is not a mini-series, but Season 1 with a second season planned. That might mean the story is not resolved in the next two episodes.
