Don't assume by the elite name you will get elite sound, if you don't care about the new audio formats you could buy something used off of AudiogoN high end audio auctions, classifieds, hifi chat

And don't think you won't. I dumped my marantz for an elite and love it. Pioneer Elite recievers are just awesome and way less complicated than Denon (my second favorite).

Thanks Jason. The only thing that I wish this receiver had were HDMI capabilities but then again, I never run my video through my receiver anyway.
