Probably not a good idea, but if you must just for short term... just maybe keep your playback volume modest and not cranked high I guess.

Onkyo at least does indicate the AVR can handle 4ohm, so... However, the "subwoofer" for your Phillips HT-in-a-box kit is a passive sub, so you can't readily use it w/ the Onkyo AVR. That Onkyo (and all modern, standalone AVRs) assume you'll be using an active subwoofer, not passive -- passive requires the AVR to provide the power whereas active comes w/ its own power source (and is usually better because of that).

And w/out subwoofer, your old HT kit will likely sound quite thin since all those (other) speakers are rated to only go down to 150Hz and basically have no bass at all -- and you'll probably need to set the Onkyo AVR w/ very high crossover to not be problematic sending the (mid-to-upper) bass frequencies that it would normally send to those various channels.

IF you go this route, you should probably just replace the "subwoofer" asap alongside the AVR.
