I couldn't find an existing thread about this subject so I thought I'd create one. The majority of films discussed on this board are the classics, and most Blu-ray wishlist threads are heavily favored towards them. There's way too many to list in my opinion. Then I started thinking about more recent films that haven't made the jump to Blu-ray and I was startled to discover that an enormous amount of them have not been released on Blu-ray. I would have thought that HD masters of these films would have been readily available as there is less clean-up and polishing required to release them as opposed to older films.
Thus, I thought it would be interesting for everyone to list their most wanted post-1990 titles by studio using this template:
Fox
MGM
Universal
Sony / Columbia
Warner Bros. / New Line
Paramount
Disney
Lionsgate / Miramax
The Weinstein Company
Dreamworks
The Criterion Collection

"Far and Away"...one of the last Hollywood produced 65mm films. I'd love to see a downsampled 8K scan of this.

That's an impressive list, Matthew, though I read the entire thing and I think The Iron Giant is the only movie on it I'd care to own.

Off the top of my head, I'd like to see anything from David Lynch (especially Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive), Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, John Carpenter, Kevin Smith and John Waters. And since Bryan brought it up, I'd buy Ghost World which I still think is the best comic book adaptation.
In the realm of TV, I'd want to see them release Twin Peaks and while I doubt it'll happen since it would require going back to the negative, I'd LOVE to see The X-Files come to Blu-ray.

A few of those on Matthew's list have been released on region free blu-rays available as imports. Of course, a domestic release may be cheaper for some of them.

Threads like this become "list your favorite film from studio X" regardless of the films chance or market.
Most of the desired titles have little chance of being released on Blu-ray in the near future. The studios know which classic "A" titles sell by now and if it's a big one it will eventually be released.

I like quite a few of Matthew's selections. While there are a number of titles that are unlikely to make it to Blu-ray, I believe most of the films featuring major directorial or acting talent will eventually make it to Bd as the studios mine their catalogs.

Bright Star
The Cell
The Claim
Fearless
The Hours
Howl's Moving Castle

There are very few post-1990 films I woould care to see released on Blu-ray. My short list:
Fearless (Warner, 1993). The definitive plane crash drama. Come to think of it, FEARLESS would make an excellent cash-in to FLIGHT, the new Denzel Washington flick. Whadaya say, Warner?
Ravenous (Fox). A 90's masterpiece of the macabre. Can't say that about many other films from the era.
Neon City (Lionsgate, 1991). Terrific little eco-disaster flick starring Michael Ironside. A post-apocalyptic reworking of Stagecoach!
The Stand (1994). This was a made-for-TV production but it was shot on film so there shouldn't be any issues with PQ. The DVD looks dreadful by today's standards, though.
Narrow Margin (1990?). Great little gangster chase thriller set on a train. With Gene Hackman.

Really, I'd be satisfied with just one, also from 1990: Atame!
There should be a lot more Almodovar on Blu-ray in North America by now.

I like a lot of the subsequent choices since my first posting. A few more (some first postings and some already mentioned)...
Angels & Insects - Beautiful costuming and a strong visual design that would look great on Bd.
Blood In, Blood Out (aka Bound by Honor) - Not the most critically acclaimed film, but I've always like the scope of the film.
Brotherhood of the Wolf - Own the HD-DVD, would like to see a better version on Bd.
Extreme Prejudice - It would be nice to finally have a good home video release of this Walter Hill film.
Hercules (1997) - A Disney favorite that is poorly represented on home video.
Lilo & Stitch - See Hercules.
Lust, Caution - Not my favorite Ang Lee film, but a beautiful production design that would look splendid on Bd.
Open Range - One of my favorite films of the past decade. Still waiting on a Bd release.
Panic Room - Surprised that given the cast and crew that this is not on Bd yet.
Ravenous - Great selection by my fellow HTF'ers.
Raise the Red Lantern - Another favorite from the '90s that should look splendid on Bd.
Shine - Another title whose absence is surprising to me.
There should be a lot more Almodovar on Blu-ray in North America by now.
Agreed. Very surprising that this is not the case.
Wish lists are never ending, but it is nice to reminisce about the films you've viewed and hope to see again in a better presentation. At least that is the appeal of these topics to me.
- Walter.

I'm more of a pre-eighties person, but I do have a soft spot for big action movies, so:
True Lies
Bad Boys 2 (will Sony ever release this on Blu?)
Congo (well I like it)
