What is the differnce between Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic, and DTS?

I am taking it dd is the best?

OK, rather than re-invent the wheel, take a look at the HTF FAQ page. DD, Pro Logic and DTS are covered extensively there. As far as which is best, well, that can of worms has been opened here before. Most posters to this forum seem to give DTS the edge though.
