Our Denon Sound System has died, and I want to reroute the sound back from the TV.

Not sure that I understand the question. We have Verizon Fios. But the problem is the way that the TV is programmed to run through the Denon box that will not turn on.

Well...by sources....your FIOS box is one source.
Do you still have the TVs remote? IF so...everything hooked up to the Denon...
Hook up to the TV.

I don't mean to be the dumbest person that you have dealt with, but after I unscrew the blue pro solution cable things, I think just pull it out?

It really would be best if you could post the make and model of each device in your system:
The Sony TV
The Denon Receiver
The Verizon Fios box
Any DVD or Blu Ray player
Game system
BTW, have you checked the fuse? Your owner manual will tell you where to find it, how to tell if it is blown, and the specs for a replacement.
Regards,
Joe

Ok, the Denon is not working - you should not have anything plugged into it any more. Get it out of the room altogether.

Connect each device you have (FiOS box included) to the TV. Use HDMI if the device supports it (the FiOS box should have HDMI).

Still only video and no sound? I would guess you had disabled the TVs speakers when everything was running through the Denon.

To fix this, you need to use the TVs remote to re-enable the TVs speakers.

Since we don't know the exact model of the TV, we can't be certain what the menus/options are, but it should go something like this:

Menu->Setup->Audio->Speakers->On/Off
