Ended up catching this at the Boston Common theater over the weekend. MUCH, MUCH clearer than Superman 3D. That said, the effect was subtle and largely to fill out the depth of field.
The main problem I had with it was that, like Superman, they had a CG 3D preview before it. (Pixar's mermaid/snow globe short) The 3D effect was SO awesome that it made the 3D in the feature a let down by comparison.
