The entire list is over at Jim Hill Media but some highlights include:

01/27/04 Pocahontas - Special Edition
01/27/04 Alice in Wonderland - Special Edition
01/27/04 Lilo & Stitch - Special Edition
08/17/04 Mary Poppins - Special Edition

Personally, I can't wait for ALICE and POPPINS. I just wish I hadn't just today bid on the ALICE LD box set over at eBay. Oh well.

Excellent! I'm all over Alice in Wonderland: SE, Aladdin: PE, Walt Disney Treasures wave 3, Lilo & Stitch: SE, Mary Poppins: SE, as well as Finding Nemo and Pirates of the Caribbean if they turn out to be as good as they look to be. :D :emoji_thumbsup:

Can I just go into my David Lambert Mode and dance around, uh, half-naked (since these are (P)G films)... :D

I'm personally getting the following:

11/04/03 Finding Nemo
12/02/03 Walt Disney Treasures, Wave 3
01/27/04 Pocahontas - Special Edition
01/27/04 Alice in Wonderland - Special Edition
01/27/04 Lilo & Stitch - Special Edition
03/30/04 Brother Bear
08/17/04 Mary Poppins - Special Edition
10/05/04 Aladdin - Special Edition

And 1/27 is just 10 days after my birthday!! :)

I wonder when the details of that 3rd Wave of the Treasures will surface...

Well, they pretty much already have. Apparently, we'll be getting another Mickey Color set, the delayed Wartime set, and a Donald set. There's a Space one in the works, but the last I heard, it wasn't going to be ready in time for this year's release.

Well yeah I knew that, Brian, but I meant actual details. I'm hoping soon.

Too bad Brother Bear isn't labeled as a "Special Edition". Is this another case of a single-disc release followed by a SE?

So, am I missing something? Where is the accelerated Platinum release schedule? I thought we could expect a second one in 2004, but I only see Aladdin (and it's labeled SE instead of Platinum).

Maybe it's just not final yet?

After all the talk about Disney no doing any more 2 disk SEs of their animated movies I won't be holding my breath. I guess I can hold out until Jan 04 to buy Lilo & Stitch to find out if the SE is really going to come out. Good information to know. Thanks.

not to rain on anyone's parade, but
even if that data is accurate today, how
do we know for sure?

Even Ron's "VERY SOLID" BV release schedule
got completely obliterated.....

Very nice list.

I hope Disney can add The Thief and the Cobbler: Director's Cut in the near future. They're supposed to be reconstructing, restoring, and finishing the film.

Mark, Disney said during a shareholder's conference call recently that they were revamping their animated DVD schedule (the main gist was that there would be 2 Platinum releases per year), so Ron's probably was legitimate before they decided to change things around.

I am going to buy these discs for sure :

Finding Nemo
Lilo & Stitch SE
Aladdin SE
Lion King 1 1/2
Lion King 2 SE
Pirates Of The Caribbean
Spy Kids 3-D

I to am waiting for a Special Edition of Mulan and it is long overdue :frowning:
Let's hope Disney adds this to their schedule.

The Lilo & Stitch announcement makes me wonder... Is that movie considered one of Disney's 40-something "animated classics" like Aladdin, The Lion King, Emperor's New Groove, etc.?

Here's my list:

09/09/03 Sleeping Beauty
10/07/03 The Lion King - Platinum Edition
11/04/03 Finding Nemo*
12/02/03 Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl*
12/02/03 Walt Disney Treasures, Wave 3
01/27/04 Alice in Wonderland - Special Edition
04/20/04 Haunted Mansion*
08/17/04 Mary Poppins - Special Edition
10/05/04 Aladdin - Special Edition

* - These ones I'll buy only if they turn out to be as good as I'm anticipating.

What are these?:

12/09/03 Recess: 5th Grade
12/09/03 Recess: All Growed Down

If one of them happens to be a season set (which I doubt) then I may add it to my list.

Glad to hear that MARY POPPINS will be treated with the proper respect within a week of her 40th birthday!
