I heard on the radio today that all of the movie theaters in Georgia have banded together and are donating 100% of the revenue from movie and consession sales to the Red Cross. YMMV... you can never beleive what they say on AM radio

I think my link I posted last week has a link to the theaters involved with this promotion... Brent L says it's not in Canada though, or at least in his neck of the woods...

The AMC theaters in my area are doing this, or something similar. Of course, the cynic in me says that it's not so grand of a gesture since Tuesday is typically the worst attended day of the week.

Tuesday is typically the worst attended day of the week.
Hopefully we can convince enough people to go see a movie today to change that fact at least for this week

I wonder if a moderator would be kind enough to change the subject line to a more appropriate title, since this is not localized in only Ga?

Yup, just saw a news item about it this morning. Both Regal Cinemas and Century Cinemas here in Portland are promoting this too.

General Cinemas in Boston is doing the same thing today. There's a few things that I still want to see, and I might even buy snacks instead of sneaking them in :)

It was definitely "stupid comedy" day at the theater... After exposing a couple of extremely critical friends to "Bubble Boy", I'm still confused by the vitriol directed at this movie. They loved it... Go figure.

CARMIKE? GIVE MONEY AWAY?
nooooooooo not possible!
as a former carmike employee I think they should take the profits from the day and give their employees a raise. It would do more to stimulate the economy and general good, since I know people that have worked in the theatre I did four years and still made $5.15 an hour
