I think the online retailer I ordered mine from was out of business, so I returned it to Criterion and they sent me a still-working copy. If I were you, I would go that route as well.
Not a rot problem, but I had problems with the defective 2-disc pressing of Dinosaur. The major problem was that the audio mixing comparison would result in a vertically stretched picture with massive gaps between the scan lines. BVHE was very cool about sending me a replacement.
