6 ohm speakers (1 Viewer)

I just ordered some wharfedale speakers that the site say's are rated at 6 ohms. I have a keenwood vr 507 reciver. Is this going to damge the reciver since most speaker seem to be rated at 8 ohms. I am not really clear on the whole ohm thing.

FYI, I am running 6 ohm speakers to my 8 ohm amp. Have been doing that for years with no problem and the amp does not get hot. 4 ohms would be more of a challenge and not recommended.

I just found a brochure on them and it does say they are compatible with 8 ohm recievers.
