5.1 or 6.1 (1 Viewer)

this is my second post today and I probably should'nt ask this due to all the varying views, but here goes.
I now have a 5.1 setup that is working exceptionally well considering my cheap $100.00 receiver. however I will be up grading and after reviewing the dolby site I believe for proper placement I only have room for one rear center.
now my question is should I purchase an exceptional 5.1 receiver or will I actually notice a differnce with an exceptional 6.1.
exceptional just meaning quality $600-$1000 receiver.

If you are going to move to a quality receiver, most in the 600-1000 pricerange will have 6.1 or 7.1 capability. I would recommend you use a 7.1 speaker setup rather than 6.1. If ythe receiver is only 6.1 you can wire both in mono together off the rear output.
