The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

  1. Thanks as always for putting this together, Mike! I really loved War for the Planet of the Apes and will add it to my collection sooner rather than later, but this close to the holiday sale periods, I'll wait a bit to see if a better price is forthcoming. Nothing else for me this week either.

I put up the review for War for the Planet of the Apes on UHD yesterday. It can be found here.

D'oh! That's what I get for not doing a last minute check before posting up today!

I have added the link to the original article, Matt!

  3. The Old Dark House for me as well.
There are a few others I have my eye on, but I am going to wait for some sales to show up. I'm getting tired of buying discs only to have them go down in price just a little while after initial release.

  4. I didn't list all of them ,but Best Buy has the following 4K/UHD titles for $14.99 each this week:

    Zero Dark Thirty
    Leon the Professional
    The Fifth Element
    Bran Stoker's Dracula
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
    Starship Troopers
    John Wicks
    The Cabin in the Woods
    Passengers
    Kick-Ass
    Ex Machina
    Red
    Red 2
    Snitch
    Dredd

Best Buy also has a group of 4k titles on sale for $19.99. Ones that caught my eye: Baby Driver, John Wick 2, Alien: Covenant & Blade Runner

Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them is another one. Also, Life on 4K/UHD disc is $14.99

Blade Runner is "only available in stores" and there is not one available within 250 miles of me …

  7. I had every intention of seeing War for the Planet of the Apes in the theater…and never did. I feel bad, actually, since I really enjoyed the first two and I was excited for the third. My gut says I should pick up the Trilogy pack since, at the Amazon price, that's a good deal (in my mind) for three movies.

I'm on the fence about Alien: Covenant (I know I'll add it at some point, but not sure if that's a $19.99 title for me or not). Fantastic Beasts and Star Trek Beyond are also on the radar.

    Thank you Mike!

  8. My Target is offering a $5 gift card if you get your flu shot at their pharmacy. I assume this i probably a national promotion.

If you haven't already gotten a flu shot this year and need one, this is a nice deal. I used mine against the purchase of a Blu-ray right after I got done receiving the shot.

  9. Sam Posten

Apes trilogy for me. 2>3>1 🙂

Best Buy does have this on sale for $49.99 (although you couldn't tell it by the ad or link from the ad …)

Best Buy offered me $1.00 off if I picked it up in store instead of shipping (Baby Driver 4K UHD as well)

Ditto (or photocopy?) on $49.99 for the UHD Set
    for Target
    https://www.target.com/p/planet-of-…-blu-ray-dvd-digital/-/A-52712041#lnk=sametab

Should be 5 % off with the Red Card and free shipping

I ordered from BB as I had a rewards certificate …

Target has the 3D Bluray of War for $27.99 🙁

Update: My local Wal*Mart has the 3 Movie PoTA 4k UHD for $39.96 I don't know if this is a special but it's a darn good price

In other news: Wal*Mart has an exclusive for the Emoji Movie Bluray
    I "Backpack clip"
Simliar to to this "Chocolate Pudding" one

  11. I’m wanting to buy UHD to future proof. But with $20 premiums it still doesn’t make sense. POTA UHD with be $30 or less in a couple of years, assuming I’ll even want to rewatch. Sigh.

As mentioned above, the Apes 4K trilogy is $39.99 at Walmart..which BB matches.

Certainly worth an extra $3.33 per film isn’t it? And you still get the Blu-ray’s too. To me it makes perfect sense. 😉

I checked Walmart website and UHD is $52. Don’t know how you’re finding it for $40.

I was going by the post above. Must have been last weeks price. You snooze you lose. 😀

I don;t think the price has ever been shown online. It is 39.96 in stores so you can get BBY to match a store price though some stores are easier than others. Call or take a pic of the WM shelf tag assuming you don't want to buy it at WM to begin with.

I've seen that happen at Target as well This week my Target store had the first John Wick movie 4KUHD for $13.00 online it's $24.99 but the price scanner in the store says it $13.00 … 🙄

The three POTA prequels on 4KUHD were STILL $39.99 at my Wal*Mart … I have seen prices there be down for a few weeks after release and then go up …

  17. 🙁

But thanks for info. 🙂 I’ll stick with my $29 Blu-ray trio. $50 UHD is too much and another $10 savings isn’t worth driving around scouring Walmarts and taking photos and haggling with B.B.

  18. I haven’t shopped at Walmart in 20 years, I think. I don’t even know where my local one is. Contra searching Walmart shelves hoping to find a cheap trio, I’ve got the blu-ray waiting for pickup at B.B. that I order online on my iPhone laying in bed this morning.

UHD isn’t important to me. I’m a year, maybe two, from upgrading. Spending extra money today for product that I can’t use for 12-24 months isn’t how I roll. 🙂
