I doubt it has anything to do with SP2.
During the last days, I have seen some more of the red-x boxes too on this forum, but when I right-clicked them, they all appeared to be on a photo-album website that apparently was down for several hours (e.g. this weekend), or perhaps just blocked because of too many hits in a relative short time (bandwidth limit).
