I have an internal DTC100 HD Directv receiver inside my RCA F38310. I finally activated it, and still have my Directivo hooked up to the same tv. so i'm getting all the regular (non HD) channels on both receivers on the same tv - and the DTC100 looks ALOT better than the Directivo. I have the directivo hooked up through an svideo input, but i don't know how the internal DTV receiver is hooked up internally. Is this what is causing the difference in PQ?

The DTC100 looks more vibrant and less pixelated. The Directivo looks very washed out and less detailed by comparison, even after extensive video setting tweaks.

i was hoping to still use the directivo for all non-HD programming, especially because of all the features that come along with it. I didn't expect another DirecTV receiver to look any better (except on the HD channels, of course)...but i find myself rarely using the directivo on that TV anymore.

any thoughts?

Sean,

The internal high definition decoder will output high definition at 1080i and everything else at 540p. The DirecTivo outputs only 480i. Big difference in resolution between the two. Regards.
