Which movies old or new had you yawning and straining to keep your eyes open?
Which movies are in your opinion a cure for insomnia?
Recently 'Blair Witch Project' had me propping my eyes open with matchsticks, and this film scared the shit out of people??
'Proof of Life', should have been retitled 'Proof of Boredom', dozed off halfway, erm what happened at the end was he rescued, no I don't really care.
'Meet Joe Black', had me knitting a sweater while it was on, just kidding, my nutty babe wanted to see this 'epic' again and again, I pleaded cruel and unusual punishment and she relented, I swear this movie was 8 hours long.
'What Dreams May Come', worked perfectly I was in the land of nod within minutes.
When I was a wee lad '2001 A Space Odyssey' was the most boring film ever created, now its my favorite SF movie, when I watch this classic with a bunch of friends I'm the only one still awake by the end, only kidding Jack, brilliant movie.

To date Ed Wood is the only movie that I've ever fallen asleep while watching.
The Road to Wellville is a close second.

Fell asleep watching Soul Survivors, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (I REALLY wanted to like this, but fell asleep during the middle!) and Planet of the Apes.

Jesse, how could you possibly fall asleep watching a movie with Eliza Dushku and Ali Larter in tight black leather!?!

Personally, Gladiator did the trick for me and the missus...at least the first ½-hour or so. It picked up after that.
But getting through that first part was a killer! :)

I almost fell asleep watching Se7en because it was so boring.
I also tend to fall asleep watching The Princess Bride. It's a good movie but for some reason makes me want to sleep.

Se7en put me out when I rented it on a Friday night a few years ago. However, I don't think I could sit through Judge Dredd without either falling asleep or walking out of the room. That movies just plain sucked in my opinion. No offense intended for those who like the film. :)

This may just be a personal quirk but I have never been able to stay awake during a showing of Octopussy.
I fell asleep trying to see it in the theater on its initial release. I subsequently bought the laserdisc -- only because it was cheap -- and, after multiple attempts (no kidding), I have still fallen asleep every single time.
I've actually started to wonder if there are subliminal messages hidden in the film...

I watched 2001: A Space Odyssey 3 times and fell asleep every single time. This movie is just too slow and boring. I don't understand why people love this movie.

Because I thought Dogma was boring, that's why.
