I just had this hooked up, the image quality had a very noticable improvement.

I made sure to select hdmi (which is what I have connected) and made sure resolution is 1080i , but does this mean it is now upconverting DVDs?

I ask because there is no "upconvert" button and setting per say.

And the damn manual has not one bit of information.

I had the luxury of the tech installing it and he did select something on the DVD settings and told me it was now upconverting and you did see it on the display indicating it was upconverting the current DVD playing.

But when I enter other DVDs I don't see this display, is it all done automatic now?

Thanks for any help.

BTW, I love that DVD player.

If you set to 1080i output, and you on HDMI or DVI connection and you have picture, you are definitely upconverting / scaling.

Usually there is a button on the display that will confirm the source data, input and resolution being recieved.

Thanks, just wanted to confirm.

The image is incredible, I'm impressed by this technology.

It looks as good or just a tad under HDTV from PBS.
