What ever happened to MUGEN (and Elecbyte) (1 Viewer)

A few years ago I used to make characters and stages for a customizable 2-D fighting game for DOS called MUGEN, which was made by Elecbyte. Around 2001 they stopped development on the DOS version and switched to Linux, and a Windows version was supposed to be developed soon after that.

The last time I saw Elecbyte's website, it said that the project had "hit a snag". Now it seems that their website (http://www.elecbyte.com) does not even exist anymore.

Does anyone know what ever happened to Elecbyte or Mugen?

I just learned about a site called archive.org that archives websites. You can see the old elecbyte website this way, but unfortunately it looks like you can't download any of the files from the site.
