JVC, but they don't allow the scaling to be turned on manually for incorrectly flagged letterbox dvds.

Some scaling players include the recent Toshiba's and the Malata's. But the Tosh's have a mild version of the chroma bug and the Malata's do not make the most reliable players. If your distance-to-screen-size ratio is on the high side, say >=3:1, then the chroma bug of the Tosh's might not be visible anyway. The nice thing about the Malata's is extremely flexible scaling, which can also be used to reverse the image cropping effect of TV overscan.
