Way to check if an X-1's been used? (1 Viewer)

I am going to buy an X-1. Been comparing prices and the cheapest I've found is $970 shipped at Comp-U-Plus Direct. This place seems suspect. Much rather buy from Best Buy or Circuit City but without a 10% off coupon the total would be $1080. Seen a few on Ebay for around $950 price new but with the 5 year warranty and some extra's. Not really worried about getting ripped off because my Amex card paid through Pay-Pal will handle any shady transactions. Now I know you can check the hours logged on the unit, but could a seller erase that info and sell as new? Or if any one knows a good price on a new one please let me know.

So there is no way any sellers could erase the Hours on the bulb? If not, then that would be one sure way I could check right?
