Looks like warner home video are making the change from snappers to amaray cases.I was in woolworths today and saw Two Weeks Notice and The Matrix both in amaray cases.Hopefully we can expect all their films to be packaged in amarays from now on.

Snappers have been extinct here for a while now.

I just saw Deliverance on a shelf in Borders today in a sparkling fresh Amaray.

    Sure is nice to see.

Sadly, they waited until after I'd already bought:

    2001
    The Shining
    Excalibur
    The Mad Max Trilogy
    The Iron Giant
    Them
    Watership Down
    Gay Purr-ee
    The Time Machine
    Noth by Northwest
Strangers on a Train.... oh well [IMG]

Right, very important question. Are Warner including inserts in these Amaray's?

How do you quote posts on this forum?

Anyways, WB aren't planning to re-issue all their snappers are they?

Like Sean I just bought Gay Pur-ee, all the Kubrick releases, Nothing But Trouble and countless others...

Are these titles all being revisited?

    Marco,

There's a 'quote' button on top (right) if you use "Post Reply" or "Post Quick Reply".

No, there's no hint of Warner re-issuing any of their titles for the reason of replacing the case.

What do you mean by that Cees?

Over here, EVERY Warner snapper title has been re-issued with the same artwork, but as a paper insert inside a plastic Amaray.

I've replaced my original copies of: Beetlejuice, Mars Attacks! and Blade Runner.

In fact, the ONLY snapper I own is Pee Wee's Big Adventure because it's only available in Region 1.

    Darren,

Were they re-issued because of the desire to change artwork? Or just re-issued and then got a new case?

The artwork (front, back & spine) is TOTALLY identical, just printed on paper instead of cardboard.

They were re-issued purely as a change to Amaray cases.

It's simple. As a DVD is repressed and sent out to stores, the DVD is re-issued in an amaray case with the same cover art. As clear cases are used, the inside cover of the snapper case with the chapter stops is printed on the other side of the cover.

I dont actually mind Snappers either.

Ive noticed they seem to remain shinier and scratch less easily over time. Also they always whave the chapter listings on the inside cover and it cant be lost.
