using receiver for guitar amp? (1 Viewer)

well i was thinking i could use my denon AV-1100 for a guitar amp. either through the mic jack on my DVD player or making a cord to go in the RCA's in the back. my girlfreind talked to a guy she works with who is a DJ and he said it would blo my speakers. any ideas? thanks i have a pair of yamaha 3 way 70watts rms speakers. sorry wrong forum.

If you run distorted / gain on your guitar, it really would not work.

It does ok, for accoustic and clean electric guitar with the use of a DI box.

But in general, I say it does not work at all.


Your much much better off with a little guitar amp, with gain, and verb, over this solution.
