I was hoping for Criterion, but I'll take this. Great film. Just remember, George Raft would never get naked.

One of my all-time favourite films. However, I'm a little nervous now about pre-ordering when so many recent Blu-rays have been disappointing - The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, for instance. I'll wait to see what the verdict is before I lay down James Madison.

Well I wasnt disappointed with Holmes, Separate Tables ..my expectations arent sky high like they would be for something like Amazing Spiderman 3 or Avatar but Ive been happy with what Ive gotten from them.. I hope for more of the same with Planet of the Vampires and the Long Goodbye

Do you think it would be similar to the Arrow/UK version's PQ? Probably, it was provided to Arrow indirectly via MGM apparently. The PQ of that version is reportedly very good.

I was going to get the UK version of this yesterday. Normally I wait a while after an Arrow/UK release for the expected U.S. release (region A instead of B), since A gives me more playback flexibility, and here it is!

Hey! That sounds like Raymond Chandler!
