Just saw this movie for the first time and loved it. I have no idea why!

Loved all the inconsequential little things like the chief bouncer. The way he worked where he just nodded from afar and didn't do the actual work himself.

I had seen it around the time of its release and liked it but when I saw it on Blu-ray, I loved it too.

I'm surprised why Chloë Sevigny didn't become a bigger star.

I have the trilogy of Whit Stillman films put out by Criterion. You can also see Sevigny and Kate Beckinsale reunited in the more recent Love & Friendship, also directed by Whit Stillman.
