During 1979 - 1989 a nine year guerilla war took place in Afghanistan between the Soviet Union and the Mujahideen, Afgan resistance fighters. The Beast of War takes place during that time period when a Soviet tank becomes lost in the mountain valleys with the Mujahideen tracking them. This movie is now on Bluray from Imprint, August 5th release, as well as a French release now available. I purchased the French version and the Bluray contains French and English audio with French subtitles. The subtitles include an OFF switch and the Bluray is Region-Free. The movie stars Jason Patrick, Steven Bauer and George Dzundza. I have always liked this movie and am very happy it is now on Bluray.
