Suggestions on HDTV to Buy (1 Viewer)

I am in the process of looking for TV for my home theater. I would like to get an HDTV (16:9) in the 40"-55" range and I would like to spend no more than about $2500. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good model in that range?
I usually watch only DVDs and not much regular TV in that room, which is why I am thinking about an HDTV.
