Studio Canal Ran 4K UHD (1 Viewer)

On July 7th Studio Canal will release on 4K UHD 3 disc set of Kurosawa's Ran in the UK & France. Lionsgate will release a 4K digital version here in the US but no disc version yet.

Lionsgate never bothered to release a Blu-ray of the 4K remaster that was done 5 years ago, so them not releasing this on a 4K disc shouldn't come as a surprise.

Looks like Amazon UK will not currently ship the 4K disc to me in the US but it is on sale at website Zavvi.

Tremendous cover art. I don't normally give two hoots about a steelbook release but this looks gorgeous!

Unsurprisingly, the main difference between the UHD and blu-ray appears to be better grain resolution. It should look fantastic projected. Waiting impatiently for my Amazon.uk copy to ship.
