Str-da2es - streaming HiRes - only allows 2 channel output (1 Viewer)

Ok Community,

I have connected a Wiim mini streamer to my trusty Str-da2es av receiver via optical cable, playing Hi Res files off Amazon HD - at 96 khz (24 bit depth).

** The issue is this: the receiver only plays in 2 channel mode, disabling subwoofer output for sample rate of 96 khz. **

Trouble shooting:
- isolated the cause to sample rate by alternately lowering the sampling rate and bit depth on the wiim streamer. The receiver automatically reenables subwoofer output for sampling rates of 48 and 44 khz.
- without making any other setup changes on the receiver.
- changing between 16 and 24 bit depth has no impact.

If anyone has relevant experience here that would be great!

It seems you've found a limitation with the receiver. It appears to be about 20 years old, so I expect it's one of its limitations.
