Even MORE serious!!....

Mr. Peter Overduin needs to borrow $699 (one more dollar than Sony!) to buy the Toshiba HD-A1 HD-DVD PLayer!!

Take THAT...Sony!

Actuallly..it is a very intersting read, and does not bode well for Sony, already bleeding money heavily in year after year money losing operations. Not that it would go belly up, but increasingly puts them in a corner. From an investment view....Sony is a "sell." Hype aside, BD is not doing well...the PS3 is not going to do as well as they need it to in the first year at least and will cost more than the mere 'millions' alluded to in the article, and the business apps for Blu ray will not catch the market by storm either (its only advantage over HD-DVD).

$700 mil? Bah, that's just chump change. Heck, Microsoft seems to be paying that every quarter in government fines. ;)

HD-A1 sells for C$699 dollars in the Great White North (Canada).

Added: He is just using Sony's 698 figure minus the millions to humourously illustrate his requirement.
