WHOOPS!!! The posted header was supposed to read "Something you should know if you pre-ordered "Heathers" LE Tin from Deep Discount DVD" but it apparently got cut off (hmmmm... all the text was in there when I sent the post...) This was supposed to be a specific header, and my apologies to anyone who came here by mistake. Anyone know how to fix that header so it reads correctly, or how I can change it to something shorter like "Deep Discount DVD / Heather LE warning..."?

The following is some information for customers who have pre-ordered the "Heathers" Limited Edition Tin from Deep Discount DVD. (And no, I donÕt work for the company, IÕm just a customer.)
I had pre-ordered this set and had been anxiously awaiting my shipping confirmation. Well, instead of getting notice that my disc set had finally shipped, I instead received this cancellation notice today:
quote: "Thank you for your recent order! Unfortunately the vendor has discontinued the item(s) listed below, and we have cancelled your backorder. You have not been charged for this item.
ABD011701D HEATHERS - LIMITED EDITION 1 Discontinued
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we thank you for your understanding."[/quote]
The ÒHeathersÓ Limited Edition tin has a pressing run of only 15,000 copies and apparently Anchor Bay has already sold out of the entire run. ItÕs a bit surprising that Deep Discount DVD was unable to obtain any copies to fulfill their pre-orders, especially considering they sell a lot of Anchor Bay titles. But if your distributors donÕt have any, thereÕs nothing you can do. (Please note that this doesnÕt affect the availability of the standard edition.)
In any event, if you have also pre-ordered the ÒHeathersÓ Limited Edition from the folks at DDD and have yet to receive any shipping confirmation, I highly recommend contacting them to check on your order status. If your order has also been cancelled, at least you still have time to run out and pick up a copy before they are all gone. And we all know how fast those Anchor Bay limited editions disappear.
Just as an FYI, Best Buy currently has an advertised special for the ÒHeathersÓ Limited Edition tin -- $24.95 each, minimum of 10 per store availability. ThatÕs a great deal and only a few cents more than what we were paying through DDD. ThatÕs where IÕm heading this morning. (And if you get there before me, please don't be a hog and buy up all the copies - leave a few for folks like us. Thanks...)
ItÕs a shame that DDD couldn't get any discs, but IÕm thankful that they notified me of it right before street date so that I didnÕt miss out and can still try to pick up a copy. And I hope this information proves useful for you as well.
Best wishes,
Jeff

I received my Heathers LE tin from DeepDiscountDVD on Saturday.
I must have been higher up in the order queue.

I too received my Heathers Tin from DDD. I would expect that they probably got less than they expected and since it was a limited run, they couldn't get any more.
Also, shouldn't this be in the retailers feedback area?

I just checked amazon.com and they have the tin for sale still. It says usually ships in 24 hours so I'd immagine they have a few left. Might be worth a shot. Heathers is such a cool movie, I cant wait to buy it. But, its going to be a while for me. I'm restricted by a college students budget :)
Later,

If you're needing to get it, I understand that every Best Buy location got exactly 10 of these tins.
Maybe that's where all the stock went. How many BB's are in existence right now? Multiply that by 10...
...there's only 15,000 tins, after all! :)

I got my Heathers L.E. on Sunday for $25 at you know where.
Was glad they had it, & picked it up right away jus in case.
It's awsome if you can't find it. Don't worry, the reg edition will be just a good. I mainly got the Tin since it had the original poster + looked pretty kewl. Still sucks that theres no keepcase inside, but oh well. The only other Tin i have is for The Beyond. Otherwise i just stick with the regular editions unless the L.E. is in a keepcase. Though is Suspiria was released in a Tin,i'd still buy it,but so far AB's Tin's are nothing much.
