Just rented this from Netflix as I am catching up on some old Gregory Peck films I have not seen. This has to be the worst transfer on dvd I've seen so far. Even VHS looks better. This was put out be Madacy, just a terrible looking film, however the audio was not too bad.

A better dvd presentation of this film was released earlier this year by Fox in the Ernest Hemingway Collection.

Netflix rarely upgrades to new and improved editions. Not that I blame them with current titles, given rampant double- and triple-dipping. In an instance like this, though, how much would it cost to pull the old versions and put maybe a half-dozen new discs into the system?
