Link doesn't work. Sorry. Here's what the article over at comingsoon.net said:

"Variety reports that "Spider-Man" director Sam Raimi's first horror production under his newly inked Senator deal will be "The Boogeyman". Raimi and partner Rob Tapert will produce the pic, which is expected to start shooting this fall.

The film, penned by Eric Kripke, is the story of a young man who is traumatized by memories of terrible things he experienced as a child in his own bedroom. Years later, after the tragic loss of his father, the young man reluctantly returns to the house and faces his fears of a being that could be real or merely a figment of his imagination.

Though no budget range or number of pix have yet been specified under the deal, Raimi expects the projects to be "reasonably priced," with "Boogeyman" budgeted in the $18 million-$20 million range."

Thanks for the scoop, Angel.
Not sure if this is a remake of the old Boogeyman, but any horror news is good news...particularly if Raimi is involved!

wow did a search and this is the only thing that came up.

3 year old thread.

anyhow, i just watched this thing. what a joke of a movie.

didnt make any sense.

why was this boogeyman trying to get this guy even though he was now an adult.

what happened at the end.

was it just a matter of a voodoo doll to get rid of the boggeyman.

someone please tell me what was good about this movie.

I must admit I kind of liked this flick. It displayed more subtlety than the average modern horror flick, and it kept me guessing until the end. The third act sucked - some of the worst CG ever didn't help - but I thought the rest was quite good. Sure beat the similar Hide and Seek.
Here's my just-posted review if anyone's interested:

this movie could have bin 30 minutes shorter if you could edit out the amount of time we had people slowly walking around in dark hallways.

how much of the movie was the main guy just staring at closet doors?

i just dont think a movie that only relieson lous music, loud screaming or any sudden loud sound in general, is scary.

more irritating that scary.

the movie isnt even over when it ends.

isnt the police going to throw this guy and the girl in jail for a long time.

the girlfriend is gone, the uncle is gone.

police, "yea, sure it was the boogeyman."

this guy had his own hand and finger prints of blood all over the place.

i know i'll thnk of more later.

i did.

his aunts advice, go to the house of your worst and most frightening memories and spend the night.

yea great idea.

colin what happened after thr credits.

i coldnt make it that far.
