S1m0ne (Or SIMONE) DVD problems? Locked up both DVD players... (1 Viewer)

Right at the layer switch near the end of Chapter 12, it completely locks my DVD players. Also if I try to start the movie from chapter 13, 14, etc., it just locks. This is on the WIDESCREEN side of the disc. I had to finish watching the movie in PAN N SCAN!

Anyone else noticed this? The disc looked perfectly clean to me...

No, must be your old sucky players.

Of course it can't be a bad disc though, nooo, it's your sucky old players.

So just exchange it. Or was it a rental? Maybe scratched severely.

Nah, one's really old Panasonic A110, the other is a new JVC player. Froze at the same spot. Must have been a disc glitch. Time for a refund.

I rented this from Netflix a few weeks ago and had no problems playing the widescreen version on my antique Toshiba SD-2109.

It's a DVD-18. These give some players problems for some reason.

My copy did the same thing. Had to finish on P&Scam side as well.

After replacing disc it was fine.
