S-video connect to...? (1 Viewer)

I'am sure this has been covered before,but I have the s-video plug on the reciver.Is there any differance in plugging S-video from DVD to reciver or directly to the tv?Thanks.

I would only plug the DVD s-video output to the receiver if you are planning to use the receiver to do switching of different sources to the TV. If the DVD player is your only source, and you have an s-video input on the TV, connect it directly to the TV.

currently i'm only running composite cabling, so i'm going through my receiver. i haven't detected any signal loss.
some people saying running s or component through the receiver is a bad idea due to the signal loss.
if i ever upgrade my cables, i'll have to test and see for myself - which is exactly what i recommend you do.
