RX-V550 or RX-V650, 6.1 or 7.1 (1 Viewer)

Hey all,
We'll, there is a great option at my local pro audio video store which is the RX-V550, 2 mains, center channel, 3 surrounds and a whoofer for 949.95 canadian. Would it be better to pay an extra 200 dollars or so to get the rx-v650 and an extra speaker with it? When whatching a 6.1 audio DVD does 7.1 come from the 6.1 or the 5.1? Thanks guys.

Jay I can't really answer the whole 6.1,7.1 thing. BUT I own a rxv650 and chose it over the 550 for a few reason but the number one reason being is that is has pre-outs for all channels while the rxv550 only has one for the sub. This gives you greater ability to expand in the future if you want to add amplification. Its really up to you. What type of speakers come with this if youi dont mind me asking?

Thanks for the reply, the speakers are the yamaha set
NS-AP4400 with the YST-SW015 subwoofer. The box set is the yamaha YHT-B5500 and can be seen on the
