I just traded out my Rotel RMB-1095 and Monster HTS1000mkII for a Rotel RMB-1075, Monster HTS5000mkII and Rotel RSP976(v2). Now I have a dillema. Currently I'm using a Yamaha RX-V1400 as a pre/pro, but now I have this 3week old 976. If you had to choose which one would you keep. HELP

Well, for sure, the yammaha is going to have many many more features, dsps, etc...

I guess it depends on what you want to use it for...if its for just basic 2 channel and dd/dts, i would test them out...i would think the rotel is better, but who knows...

if you want any added features (and im not sure that componenet video on the rotel has enough bandwidth to pass hd signals), the yammie is gonna own it...

Keep the Rotel. I've been selling Yamaha for the past 5 decades and I think they're nothing but JUNK!

Wouldn't really call it ditching. Another fellow HT nut offered up his 1075+Monster HTS5000mkII and Rotel RSP976 for my 1095 + Monster HTS1000mkII powerbar. Here I'm getting $3KCDN in gear which is only 1mth old for a 10mth old 1095 that I paid $1500CDN. Unfortunately he ended up with a groundloop hum in his system when he hooked up the 1095 and couldn't solve it. I offered to give him back his amp and pre/pro and wanted to keep the Monster Powercenter. So $300CDN+ my powerbar and I have a new powercenter. The amp in my setup also has the hum but its caused by the DVD/prepro being hooked togehter via coax. Change to optical and all is fine.
