Can any of you recommend a very good recording of Verdi's Rigoletto?

I'm afraid I'm not a great opera fan, but I recall enjoying a recording with Richard Bonynge as conductor. As far as I can recall, this got some decent critical reviews.

Incidentally, there's a DVD of Rigoletto available - if I recall correctly, it has Ricardo Chailly as conductor.

Yes, Bonynge with Pavarotti and Sutherland usually do Verdi justice, not just Rigoletto but other operas as well. That said, the film by Ponelle which is out on DVD (I have an old laser of it) is also excellent, shot on location in Mantova.
