Old audiophile (LS3/5a, Quads, all tubes in my past), with a new house. Home theater needs eq due to room configuration, and I have an old but functional Behringer DSP8024.

I used 1/4" - to - RCA cables, and get motorboating.

HELP?

No link, sorry - they're out of my 60 year old box marked AUDIO CABLES. However, they're RCA at one end, 1/4" 2-conductor at the other, all good quality. Specifically:

TV Audio Out (optical) >> optical digital to analog >> analog RCA to 1/4" >> Equalizer. The Behringer unit is turned ON but with EQ function bypassed.

I swapped in other cables with the same result - motorboating at too low a freq to be 60Hz ground loop.

Sounds like you’re using the correct cables – just wanted to make sure you weren’t using something funky like a 1/4" TRS to RCA (which would not work). Also sounds like you need a new equalizer. :(
