My question is I have a h/k 525 and a hsu vtf-3. I am thinking of getting another vtf-3 for dual sub action. Can I safely add another vtf-3 to my h/k 525 so I have dual subwoofers? If so how do I do it? Would there be any drawbacks to this? Thanks in advance.

Yes, you should be able to add a 2nd subwoofer to your system. To do this, you would need a "Y" adapter. One end of the "Y" has to be the male RCA plug. The other end(s) have to be female RCA plugs. Plug the male end into the subwoofer output of your receiver. Plug your 2 subwoofer cables into the female ends of the "Y" adapter.

As far as drawbacks, there could be some cancellation issues with two subs. However, it seems like this is a likely case when you are using two unmatched subwoofers. In your situation, it should be OK, though.
