I have a Marantz SR5200 (well, will have when it comes in) I have done a search and cannot seem to find a strait answer. I was curious as to reciever (amp) warm up time. Is there a general rule of thumb for the length of time one should let the amp warm up for best results? Is there any plausable explanation for a differance in sound quality with proper warm up?

With tubes, yes. With solid state amps, it should reach thermal stability within a few minutes. I think people who leave their amps turned on all the time do it more to avoid the power-on/power-off stresses, rather than for any sonic changes related to warm-up.
