Problem with my HK AVR120 turning off and on by itself ... (1 Viewer)

Trying to figure out what the deal is. I don't think it's a short, but when the unit is working, sometimes it just shuts off for no reason. When you go up and touch the front panel or top, it will turn back on. Also, when it's working you can touch the front panel or push on the top a little and it will shut off, and then when you touch it again, it often will turn back on. The receiver isn't hot or playing loud, and I'm running Athena speakers, so I don't think impedence is an issue. Any ideas, or is it just an HK gremlin? Seems like it may be a bad power swith or something. Help!!

My first inclination is some kind of intermittent short circuit. Second guess, some kind of static electricity problem. You need to get on the horn with HK.
