Ok, I just got a Samsung 42in DLP. I have noticed narrow vertical wavy stripes in the center section of the tv. These are only noticable in very black images but are very annoying. They occur either with cable or dvd input, which leads me to believe its the tv and not the signal or source

anyone have any ideas? should i call samsung?

Chris, please ask your question here in Display Devices, not the Basics area (which is for general discussion of home theater at the beginner level). As to your question, yes, it does seem as if the lines are the fault of the Samsung and, yes, I would call the company's service department.

Greetings

Change inputs for DVD and cable and see if the interference follows it to the other inputs.

Unplug everything from the TV and plug in things one at a time and see.

See if you can isolate the TV plug in from other components ...

Regards
