I've been toying with the idea of a portable player. What's the best bang for the buck? I know it's a sickness. I like the idea of maybe watching a trek ep or something on my lunch.....

Pioneer's PDV-LC20 features a 7" 16x9 screen. Picture quality is very good. I've had one for a year and am very pleased with it. It also plays SVCD's, DVD-R's, and DVD-R/W format discs...plus audio CD's, of course. Get the long life battery. It compares well with the Sony DFX-1 but sells for around $900, rather than $1400 for the Sony.
