Pioneer 510HD with RP91 v/s DVB318 (1 Viewer)

I'm pleased with my current setup with an Elite 53" & panny RP91. I do not plan on replacing my set for a couple more years. Since the Elite does not have DVI inputs, I'm considering trying the Zenith DVB318/LG DV7832 for it's ability to scale 1080i over component(with correct firmware level)

Have any others with a similar setup to mine gone this route and was there a significant improvement over the RP91 480P?
