What's the trick to programming the remote manually?

I can get it to take the preprogrammed codes, but there isnt a code for my Sony CD carousel. I tried the mode+enter, but the learn light never comes on, and it doesn't work after hitting mode again.

Any ideas? Am I reading that wrong? Any successes or other failures out there?

The 'Enter' button to press after 'Mode' is not the large center tophat, but the small Search/'Zone 2'/Enter button on the bottom right hand side of the remote.

I went duhhhh after trying repeatedly to mash the large Enter button.....:b

I know nothing of your remote, but here are some Sony CD codes to try: 103, 115, 116, 118, 132, 139, 163, 205, 206, 207, 208, 212, 217

Don't feel too bad, I swore at my remote for 4 hours before my wife noticed the other button marked 'Enter'. Of course I read the manual....
