Nicad vs Nimh for Camcorder (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I need a new battery for my old VHS-C camcorder. The old Nicads are toast. I see Nimh (Nickle metal hydryde?) suggested as a replacement. The ads claim no "memory" problems and 30% power increase. Sounds good, but can I still use my current recharger station (from the Nicad batteries)??? Any other concerns??

You won't be able to use the same charger. The NiMH battery will behave differently, so the Nicad charger won't know when the battery is really charged completely.

NiMH is better but will require a new charger.

I picked up two Nicads at the price of one NiMH. The camera is old and will be replaced in a year so I did not want to invest in a new charger.
