NFL2k3 for X-Box....anamorphic widescreen? (1 Viewer)

Hey Guys,
I have NFL 2k3 for XBox and I can't figure out whether it's anamorphic widescreen or not. There is no place that I can find in the game's menu to even put the game into a 16:9 widesscreen mode. My television is not forcing the game into "Full" mode which is what it normally does when it detects a progressive anamorphic signal. When I change my wide mode to full manually, the players on field look correct propertionally, but the overlay, specifically team icons next to the scores and stats, appear to be horizontally stretched. If I change my television to standard 4:3 mode then the team icons look better but the players are stretched vertically. I have my doubts that this game was correctly optimized for widescreen tv's.
Do any of you guys out there with widescreen televisions see any of these abnormalities, or am I just seeing things? :) I've read many posts that say that this game is true widescreen, but how can that be if there's no menu setting within the game to tell it to go into 16:9 mode? Or is there a setting and I just missed it?

The game *is* 16x9 widescreen. Whether your TV will pick that up and switch is another matter. Lots don't. Check out an actual ESPN broadcast sometime. The logos are squished like that so they can keep them in the background bars...

I think that you get widescreen in this game automatically if you have the Xbox set to WideScreen in the dashboard setup. My tv (Pioneer 64" widescreen) looks fine in FULL mode, I dont notice any stretching. In fact, the titles and menu's look superb, I wish ESPN looked as good via DirectTV!

Make sure you have the XBox set to widescreen....
