new Yamaha 1400 owner with a question! (1 Viewer)

Hey out there. I have purchased the 1400 , and am finishing the setup and have a concern. I have a slightly older Tosh 65h80 HDTV, and it has only 2 HD inputs. I am keeping my DTV HD box directly into the Tosh, and using my Yamaha for video switching. I think I notice a quality loos when watching DVDs now that I have brought the Yamaha into the loop. Am I nuts, or is there some reason for this. By the way, I have a Panasonic Prog. Scan player, but went alittle cheapo on the component cables. ( Could that be the problem ). Thanks alot!

Could be the player if it's new, could be the cables.
