2) They rarely use original poster art as they have some of the best graphic designers in-house to do their own covers. One of the appeals of Criterion releases are the covers they design to compliment the film.

Only a portion of the cover - the photo of Weller with a typewriter for a head - is from the original poster. The rest is a new creation of Criterion's.

Damin - Wow. I never noticed those titles didn't follow "my rule". It just seemed to me they always did, but you are right.

Anamorphic, eh? Wasn't Naked Lunch shot in Cronenberg's preferred 1.66?

Criterion 16x9-enhance all their 1.66:1 transfer these days, so no worries there.

All previous releases of the film have been 1.85:1, which is apparently what this new Criterion version is as well.
