I’m in the process of up-grading my system to incorporate DD-ex. In an effort to spread the financial impact out a little I’m going to get the speakers and ampliflication now and a high-end processor later. A Lexicon or B&K.
Can anyone recommend a decent relatively inexpensive receiver with at least 6.1 lineout I can use for now? I'd like to stay in the $300-$400 dollar range.
    Thanks all

Take a look at the Pioneer 810 or the 850. If you can swing $700-$800 you could get the Denon 2802.

Unless you absolutely need DPL II, look at a Denon AVR-2800 or 2801. A used or B stock Outlaw may come close to what you want to pay. Mine was $450 including shipping but was a B stock.

b stock would be fine. I also would be interested in used equipment. I only intend this to be about a 4-6 month fix.

Wow, great price for a new 2802. Are they an authorized Denon dealer?

no, and they couldn't answer even the simplest question that wasn't on the website's product description. It was kind of funny to hear the guy keep repeating the description to me verbatim like a mantra or something, no matter what question I asked.

Again, no they are not, hence the low price.
Some people here have ordered from them and other non-Denon authorized dealers, including myself (3801 when it came out).

Is there any difference between the 3802 and 2802 other than the amps??
